'The Soul of Communication'

If I were a leader in the future, I would be involved in many interactions with both my superiors and my subordinates. Effective communication with my superiors through the right usage of tone and tactfulness would be crucial, as this deficiency might lead to unintended tension. Regarding my subordinates, their safeties and careers depend heavily on me. Hence, effective communication would enable me to convey my instructions carefully, so as to avoid misunderstanding and/or failure of tasks.

Additionally, a good leader should actively engage in critical thinking, as members of the organisation would consider my opinions regarding changes within the company. By thinking critically, I could aid the team in considering things from different perspectives, in creating meticulous plans, and in making informed decisions. Without critical thinking, my opinions might be short-sighted and based on emotions, and this might stunt the organisation’s growth instead of propelling it forward.

In conclusion, bad communication is adverse as it costs organisations billions of dollars. As a leader, having effective communication would allow me to decrease these costs, and to further value-add to the organisation.
